Pigeons & Doves
Pigeons and doves have been kept as companions around the world for hundreds of years. At CAWC we love seeing these birds. They are gentle birds that have a calming effect and make great pets. They are seed eating birds, but do best when they eat a pellet based diet with fruit, vegetable and seed supplementation. They need fresh food and water and an adequate enclosure to be able to spread their wings and fly.
As with all pet birds, special attention to husbandry practices including monitoring daily food, water intake, and stool production is necessary to help identify any potential signs of illness. Any changes in behavior or appearance could be serious and should be brought to our attention. We are here for you and look forward to partnering with you to ensure optimal health for your feathered companion.
